2 hens + 2 pullets + 2 days = cabbage gone

The cabbage pinata is a raging success in our little coop! Thanks for the great idea. Hubby hung one yesterday for the first time and in less than an hour it looked like it had been attacked by a chainsaw!!!
Yes, somehow chickens enjoy their food more when it’s swinging around!

The hard part is actually tying the ties onto the bulb to fasten it ive never had a problem getting them to eat it theyr easy to train its just a nuisance a lot of effort:th

Just get an eye hook and put it on a string. Just screw it into the cabbage stem each time you give them a piñata. Easy peasy!

Mine same. So I cut it up, boiled it, puréed it and mixed it in with leftovers, rice and oatmeal. Froze it and they love love!!
That will work but an easier way to get them to eat pumpkin or any thing else is to just bake it. If they still fuss over it, just dribble some bacon drippings on it a few times and they WILL aquire a taste for it.

Any thing can be fixed if you just run some Bacon on it!

You can't beat the fresh green stuff you all are feeding your chickens.
I don't have time to grow greens for all my chickens.
I do buy bales of Alfalfa hay and toss a leaf in the run on a regular bases. they pick through it and eat all the soft grass. Lots of protein.
