Hardware cloth is your friend. Also look for some ana white videos on how to use saws and the like. Power tools are wonderful, but safety always first.

Hi and welcome to BYC! We're so glad you joined us! Don't be intimidated, you can do it! Browse through the coop pages and you can find lots of great ideas for DIY coops that aren't too expensive or too difficult. Just remember, hardware cloth instead of chicken wire, lots of space, and lots of ventilation.
Pre-fab coops are too small, too flimsy, and way too pricey!
