Welcome to Backyard Chickens Mary Beth, it's very nice to meet you. If you are in a high predator/raptor area, it would be prudent to cover the top of your run. They just love to drop in for a quick snack.

We do plan to cover the top as well. And burying hardware cloth around to prevent digging predators.

The enclosed coop is about 42 inches x 48 inches. It has 3 nesting boxes and 3 roosts. Big enough for my 4? I figure I may need a second coop if we get more birds. Sound right?

It's a pre-fab, isn't it?
It's not really going to be big enough for more than 3 birds unless they have 24/7 access to a completely secured run. I'd most certainly build a larger coop. I'd also make it walk-in style.
