Hello! First of all, my username was supposed to be POACH my eggs, not peachmyeggs...although I'll be having so many in due time that I might try it! My chicks arrive on the 24th (6). I'm getting the brooder and the outdoor coop and run ready. I'm about to start digging the trench around the run. Any suggestions, do's and/or don'ts? Thanks so much!

I also just realized that the Brahmans are 30" tall - my oh my! HELP! What to do? I'm afraid for my others!

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I've never owned Brahmas but I understand they are pretty laid back.
What trench are you referring to? A predator apron?
This is how I did mine. No digging required...

The edge furthest from the coop is pinned down with landscape pins. I then covered everything with stove but you can just let the grass grow through it.

Hello! Welcome to BYC!! :frow

Where did you buy your brahmas? I'm sure it depends on the type, but mine aren't nearly 30" tall. They are also very laid back and friendly birds :) Too funny about the "peach/poach"!
