Happy Holidays everyone!
Just joined BYC today! My sister and I have teamed up together to raise some chickens. We have just started our research and hope to have some chicks by spring. So far, we have found some wonderful information here and we are so excited to get started. We are going to start off with 4 hens and we'll see how it goes from there. Any recommendations on where to purchase a good chicken coop? What are some MUST HAVES when it comes to coops?
Thanks for any help. We are very "green" when it comes to this so any advice is welcome. :)

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan

Generally you want around 4 square feet of floor space inside the coop, and 10 square feet in the run, per bird. More is always better - many people find that chickens are like potato chips, it is hard to stop once you have a few.

It is easer to get some 2x4's and plywood and build one yourself just make a box with a door and get some wire for a fence no reason to spend more the you need to
