I still feel like a newbie to this chicken care routine. I’ve had birds since a friend gave me a henhouse and five mature chickens two years ago. When a “friend’s“ dog took three of them out, I got a few more and now have a flock of seven: 2 Barred Rocks, 3 Americaunas, a Lace Wyandotte, and a golden glowing Buff Orphington.
We live in a very small town south of SF on the coast and I find them a delightful flock of girls: lovely to listen to, very decorative, and they provide us with gorgeous eggs.

Hopefully the chickens are protected from Predators and "Friends" dogs now
