Hi everyone! I'm a new member too. I live along the front range of the Rockies on the eastern plains of Colorado Springs CO. I currently have a flock of 10 Guinea Hens - the originating pair were "donated" (read dumped) on our property two summers ago. Soon, a clutch of 11 eggs were produced - 10 hatched. One chick was snatched right in front of the hen by a hawk, with me watching out the window. So sad! The coop was purchased later that day! The male had disappeared while the hen was brooding, To date, the mother hen and all chicks are alive and well and lay like crazy throughout the summer. I know there are some males in there, but ID-ing Guineas is a trick. I look forward to reading all the news and seeing your pictures!
