Good morning fellow chicken people~

I am new to raising chickens! Rumor has it this is the place to be. :) I will be receiving my very first pullets at the end of May or beginning of June. Currently we are trying to revamp the Coop that came with our new property. It will be a challenge, but weather permitting...we will be done soon. I look forward to meeting you all and learning from the pros!

Hi Serenity,
Welcome
My wife and I just started our own flock last year. we are located in the northern Denver burbs. we would be happy to help steer you towards local resources we've found. You will usually get out what you put into it... security, feed, environment...
good luck!

Hi Serenity and welcome to BYC

Here’s a link to the Articles section - https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/ There you’ll find lots of information on almost every aspect of keeping chickens - from coop building ideas, to incubating eggs.

There’s a link on the page above to the Learning Centre - it’s a great resource. If you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

Each week, various topics are discussed, which can also be a great resource - https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/topic-of-the-week-thread-archive

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - Find Your State Thread

Best wishes

Welcome. Come over to the Colorado thread and meet your neighbors. You too @NativeColoradoG. If you want to bypass raising chicks, I will have pullets for sale in April. They are already 5 weeks old so should be laying in June. All solid brown egg layers.
I will be starting another batch the end of the month. Bigger breed selection and rare breeds.
