Hello everyone! I am so excited to be raising my 6 baby chicks! I am a first timer loving the first week has flown by! They are happy little girls for sure! I loved all the info here I decided to join in the fun! Only question I have is my girls seem hot these past few days, in north Texas it has been almost 80, today I unplugged the heat lamp before I went to work today I checked before I left and they seem to be fine, it is ok to not use the heat lamp if they dont seem to need it? ( I am using it over night when it is cooler) the chicks are 3-4 weeks old pullets.

! Great to have you with us! I keep the heat lamp on for spring chicks - by brooder is large enough that they can move in and out of the warmth as needed. Good luck to you!

Thank you everyone! That were still happy girls when we got home! We are starting to build our coop tomorrow! Exciting weekend ahead!
