I'm not in Melbourne, although I did spend part of my growing up there and still have a brother living in Palm Bay. I just wanted to say welcome kaylakala and enjoy your adventure with the peeps.

My children are wanting to join the 4-h Poultry club in Melbourne, FL. I spoke to a woman about it, and she told me that I just needed to get a permit. I would be raising 8 chicks and then my children would be "showing" 6 chickens at the fair in April and then they would be sold in market. All seemed great until my hubby insisted that I call zoning. They say that we are only allowed 1 chicken! What do I do? Anybody out there experience this? I'm SO disappointed!
