Hello from Invercargill, New Zealand!! (right down the bottom). We started rescuing a few Battery Farm chooks a couple of years ago to help teach the children about where their food comes from. Now we have taken the plunge raising some Barnevelder Peeps, with a view to breeding from them as well as getting eggs for the house. The Red Shavers are the domain of the older children, however the Barney's belong to little miss 2! Surprisingly miss 2 does a better job of looking after her birds than the older kids do with theirs!!!
