Hello everyone. My mom and I just recently started building our farm. We have a RIR rooster and hen. We also have 4 Pekin ducks. 2 ducks we call snow ducks but haven't figured out the real name yet. 2 fainting goats. And our newest editions are our 11 silkies. We recently losses one of our black silkies and not sure why. The white ones we have we were told are rarer kinds. The male of that bunch is very bossy with the woman from what I have read on here he bites there necks and that is him mating. Any tips or info for us newbys on silkies would be greatly appreciated.

Hello :frow Welcome to BYC and Happy Holidays! Sorry about the loss of your black silkie, Pretty silkie roo you have, silkies are really hard to sex, especially when young, if you are not sure if the ones you have are roos or not you could try posting pictures of them on some of the silkie sexing threads in the What Breed Or Gender Is This forum for help from the experts, one thread... https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/579215/silkie-sexing If you do a search, there are also quite a few general silkie threads, here is a really long one. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/297632/silkie-thread
