Greetings from Northern Nevada

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I hope you are using the long 'look don't touch' integration with those terrified BOs.
My chickens love kale too! They wiped out my entire crop last year. This year they longly watch it grow from the other side of the poultry netting!

I grow my kale in an aeroponic system called a "Tower Garden." It's hysterical watching my hens jumping to rip pieces of kale off of my plants. If I pick a leaf, they come running.

I got word from my friend that her Orphingtons were being attacked and one of them wounded and had them at my house within a couple of hours. (She had tried following all of the advice others were giving for a couple of weeks, but the RIR's were wicked mean.)

I knew my hens were pretty chill and that anything was better than what those poor birds had been through. I don't have a second run or coop, so I'm keeping them out in the yard the majority of the day so they can free range and they go in the coop at sunset. It's the best I can do for right now, I just hate that they are so freaked out by just the presence of my hens. The good news is that while they are out in the yard, they are near, but not close to the others, so hopefully they can calm down.

:welcome:frowGive the new false a chance. They will all have to establish a new pecking order. If there is one bird bullying, take the bully out for a few days. You will find a lot of good information here BYCArticles.jpg Good luck and have fun...
