Greetings from Oklahoma!

from Louisiana!
I have a cross-beak; a black Ameracauna named Georgette (thought she was "George" for a long time) - it isn't a real bad cross-beak and doesn't slow her down a bit.

I'd like to learn about showing them also. I read a little, but would be nice to have someone close by that I could have mentor or just someone to go with and watch.

I've shown dogs for 4 decades, but they have 4 legs and fur and I'm not sure about brushing out a show coat on a chicken. LOL No ring? It's to complicated for me, but I'd love to try it.

I'm supposed to be in OK next month. Family reunion, but we'll have to see.

What breeds are you thinking of showing?

I love the Shar-Pei. Almost did a co-own with a lady who had a beautiful red female, but I had too many of my own in the ring back them. It was during the almost 20 years I raised and showed Rotties. I started in Jr Showmanship at 12 with GSDs. That was MY breed as a young girl. I used to handle other's dogs way way back, but of my own it was GSDs, Dobies, Rotties and Akitas. I haven't shown for a few years now and the last of my Rottie lines have been gone for 7 years now. Couldn't find anything I liked in the states and don't have the money I once had or I would have imported again (all my dogs were imported, back them) so I bough my first Cane Corso who is now 6. Then the strangest thing happened. I found a breeder online and also bought my first?????? Toy Poodle! LOL My older kids would show up and see him and tease me about him. Guess it was old age. I had to have him. Also have a mini female that I was upposed to buy for breeding to my little male as a toy. My male is 4 pounds. The female is 13! Anyway I went to see her and they said they'd give her to me. I wasn't going to take her till they said they were taking her to the pound, so I took her home and intended to find her a new home, but people just don't want her size. Plus I don't know minis well and she looks like there might be something else in her. Sweet dog, but I spend NO time with her and she really needs someone to love her all the time. Hopefully I'll find her a great home someday. Until then, she's still here.

What part of OK are you in. I've been in California since I was 4 but lived in Blackwell way back when the smelter was open.
