Morning from South Carolina. I hope this finds you well. I am a married mom of two- a 6 year old son and 4 year old daughter.
I never thought we would have chickens until my sons kindergarten class had them in the incubator and teachers asked if anyone wanted them in sets of 3. Having no pets we jumped at the opportunity. Unfortunately our 3 chicks was only 2 but then my husband said we needed more and went to TSC and got 3 more Cinnamon Queens. Once we had 5 my husband discovered a local farm and we got 8 more chicks. In total we have 13 chicks that are approximately 5 almost 6 weeks old.
Currently the chicks are living in a massive dog kennel that I converted to a brooder and we are working on building a coop and run in the backyard which should be finished by Sunday hopefully.
I look forward to learning more about chickens ans raising them and having eggs and maybe someday I can help someone like this community has already helped me.
