well since i got my chickens i have only seen three snakes in the past two almost three years. looking into it i found that the hens are even more aggressive toward the snakes, due to a maternal instinct. there are some interesting videos of this on youtube if you search "chicken kills snake" they also will hunt and kill mice, moles and other rodents. I saw Lolita catch and eat a toad even. And I've seen my rooster chase cats and rabbits out of the yard.
