My husband and I have 6 Buff Orpington chickens around 9 weeks old. One is a rooster, actually. Somebody goofed at the place they were hatched. Oh well, he's really sweet and I think we're gonna keep him. His name is "Cogburn". I'll be posting some pics very soon. We do have an odd question though. Three of the hens are starting to develop a dark spot on their heads. Mostly over the eyes, like "eyebrows" or something. We just noticed it a couple of days ago. Is this normal? We've seen pics of other Buff Orpingtons and don't see that dark spot on their heads. What's up with ours?

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

I've never heard of your particular problem either. But I just did a search, and is this similar to what your chicks look like?

If so, it appears you might have mix breeds.
