Greetings. I know Ive already posed 4 or 5 times already but just wanted to say howdy. I just got my very first batch of chicks today from TSC. Ive been researching chickens for a while now and with the help of serveral books and this website, I finally deceided to jump into the chicken madness. This is gonna be fun and a great learning experience.

Well, these were just labeled "Red Pullets" from TSC and I got their minimum of 6. Not too sure on the breed but im not gonna worry about it for now. I wanted a "test flock" to kinda get the feel for raising chickens before I put in an order for the breed(s) I want. They look like they are between 3 to 4 weeks old. They already have some wing feathers and starting tail feathers. Today was my TSC store's last day for baby chicks. They had someone inside buying up the entire lot of their "leftovers". I was able to purchase my 6 before the other customer cleaned them out. And best yet, they were 50% off.

From TSC they are probably Red Sex links or Red Stars, as they are sometimes called.

And pullets meaning girls or hens under one year old possibly Rhode Island reds too ? But either way SCORE ! as long as they are Healthy ! Enjoy they are all great little hens and good producers
