Greetings from the Pacific Northwest

I have 25 Buff Orpington, 5 that appear to possibly be salmon Faverolles, and one that might be a Golden Wyandotte but I’m certainly no expert and they are all about 3 weeks old

In about another 3 weeks you can post pictures of them on this forum and get some ideas of their breed for sure:
What Breed Or Gender is This?

Hullo

I have been lurking on the forums/ FAQS the past few weeks learning much after a google search sent me in this direction. Thanks for all the great info and supportive responses!

Currently unemployed I have FINALLY had time to resume gardening after a decades hiatus and to take the plunge into owning chickens as I move towards a long term goal of improved food system sustainability.

With assistance from wonderful family with more carpentry experience than I, the coop is constructed and should be secure and ready to house 30 chicks by this weekend.
Hopefully this 8x8x8 foot space will keep them happy whilst we finish fencing the surrounding run.
They have been brooding in a livestock trough in my room since 04/24/20 and will Certainly appreciate additional space as they establish pecking order and try out new wings and the acrobatics associated. I will certainly appreciate a little more quiet at night!

anyways, that’s a little about me and my flock.
Hope all is well with you and yours
Hello and welcome. I am in the PNW also. Back to BYC after a time away and just getting ready to build a bigger hen house out of an old storage shed. I have a hen setting on 4 eggs and will be a grandchickma about the 20th of this month.

Hi Mailmamm,

Thanks for stoping by & howdy!

How exciting to have a setting hen, I’m a wee bit jealous and looking forward to that possibility next spring,
She went broody last spring but I broke her of it because I didn't think I wanted chicks. But this is addictive and I thought why not let her be a mum. Just have to make a bigger pen since I will have 7 chickens soon instead of my three ladies only
