Hi,
I am a teacher at a school for kids with Moderate learning difficulties. I am the carer of the school chickens. We started off a year ago by adopting 3 ex battery hens. Since then, 2 have died. [one of a suspected heart attack, the other of egg peritonitus]. One chicken on its own seemed a bit sad, so I found her some friends. So now Chloe the warren [ex batt] lives with Bonnie and Clyde. Bonnie is a Welsommer hen - hatched back in April - and Clyde is a Barnvelder cockerel. [He's very big, very friendly, and very impressive]
We have, a week ago, been joined by a 3 month old black rabbit, Charlie.
This weekend is the National Poultry Show - and I'm planning to visit this afternoon. I'm really looking forward to it!
I am a member of other chicken forums - UK based, but have spent a lovely hour or so looking at the pictures of your chickens here on this site. What lovely birds they are!
