Hello all,
I am new to the forum and have only had chickens since last summer (2013). My partner and I had the opportunity to take in 5 white leghorn pullets from a neighbor who had lovingly raised them from chicks in her little cabin until she was injured in a horseback riding incident and couldn't continue caring for them. We whipped up a coop out of an old 8x8 shed (luckily my partner is handy with all tools known to man) and I have been hooked ever since. We ended up getting more birds and are now sitting at nine laying hens. I look forward to reading more interesting and enlightening posts from all you clever chicken loving folks in the future. Thanks for the ever useful tips BYC!
