I'm new to chickens and so excited I can hardly stand it. I've had many years of indoor birds and now outdoor birds. Big order coming the first part of next week (well, big for me), and a few little darlings from the local feed store somehow found their way home on "Chick Day" already. It seems like I can see them grow a llittle each day. My biggest fear was that I wouldn't get the temperature right and either fry or freeze them. I'm happy to report they are doing well. I am very greatful for this website and all the sage advice from all of your experiences is shared here. I've been reading for months, now I get to join in the fun. There will be many questions as I go along Just have the nest boxes to build (still trying to determine size) and the roosts. The neighbor is fencing in the run today - between raindrops - we're going to share in this venture..............more later!
