Hi all! Long time visitor and info seeker but new member, here.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

We’ve been keeping chickens for about 8 years, started at our first little house in town with a tiny coop and almost no yard. We have more property (and more chickens!) now.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

We have 9. 2 “old girls” who have survived this years raccoon attacks, and 7 chicks.

(3) What breeds do you have?

Blue Andalusian, Easter Egger, French Black Copper Marans, Cream Legbars, RIR, Partridge Cochin, and Meyer Hatchery’s Green Queen. On a mission to have a rainbow basket of eggs.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

I love looking out on the yard and seeing happy chickens foraging! And the endless supply of eggs.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Knitting, gardenin

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

We have a few feral human kids who roam the property and have good nature adventures 😅

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community

Found via Google long ago and I come back to read threads for advice or answer questions I have!
