Hi everyone! I'm Sarah, aka chickentendii! Nice to meet you! I'm from sunny California. 
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I bought my first flock of hens in September 2016 and still have most of them.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 5 hens right now. I started with 9.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have a Delaware, New Hampshire Red, Golden Laced Wyandotte, and two Easter Eggers. I had a red sex link that recently passed. She was my favorite.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Originally I was excited for the fresh eggs, but my favorite part of raising chickens is figuring out they're personalities and watching their shenanigans around my yard.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Some of my other hobbies are playing video games, drawing, reading, gardening, and hanging out with my dog.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm currently going to school for accounting. I've had a few retail jobs in between, but my focus is school right now.
I also have a German Shepherd Husky mix named Baron who wants to eat my chickens so they must stay separate, haha. I usually crate him and let the girls have recess outside their run for about an hour or two each day supervised.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I believe I stumbled across BYC looking for answers to some questions I had about chickens. I've known about this site since I've gotten my flock. I've come back to it every now or then. What made me want to finally join was the passing of my favorite hen, Dumpling. I wanted to post about her to a community that understands the sadness of losing a chicken.
