Hi, my name is Tracy and I live in the Great Pacific Northwest, near Tacoma. My husband and I added chickens to our little farm about seven years ago. It wasn't until then we felt like a bona fide farm. Something about the clucking and crowing that just made our farm a farm. And they are so much fun. Back then we started with four. Now we have about 20, and six of them are roos. It's noisy but they all get along okay since they are not confined. We have quite the assortment of breeds since we take them from people who no longer want them (hence, the six boys).
I discovered BackYard Chickens a few years back. Just lurked 'til now. Such a great resource for everything chicken!
My other hobbies include raising mason bees, horseback riding, kayaking, bike riding, volunteering and fostering for our local animal shelter.
My husband and I live on a few fenced acres with 4 dogs, 1 indoor cat, 3 feral barn cats, 1 former feral cat who lives in our garden shed, 2 geldings, 4 little goats, 1 llama, and 2 alpacas, and our many chickens who all have names
Thanks for letting me join and for all of the useful info over the years!
