Hi! I am from Lancaster PA, and excited to start learning more about raising chickens with this Group! I am new to this. I have 6 chicks and wondering if to buy or built a chicken coop... Although I really like the idea of turning a playhouse in a coop!!! Help Please!

Hello there Sandra and welcome to BYC!

Purchased or built matters not as long as it has proper ventilation and space for the birds to prevent cannibalism and agression. At least 5 square feet per bird in the coop, not including roost bars and nest boxes. And 1/2 to 1 ft of vent space in the eaves of the coop per bird.
