Hey y'all, I'm Luci, I'm a duck farmer and dog groomer. Been coming here for years, never needed an account, as I would usually just read, but I saw that I could give someone advice on a problem they were having, so I felt it was important enough to take the time to finally join the flock, so to speak.
I currently have 29 ducks, 5 are Black Swedish and the rest are jumbo Pekins. 24 are females. I also have 14 laying hens and a few pretty roosters, and about a dozen American Chinchilla meat rabbits. The ducks & rabbits free-range the property, with supplemental feed, the hens are currently penned up because they needed re-training on where they are supposed to lay their eggs.
We eat 100% organic in our family, that includes our livestock. We use organic rabbit feed, and organic soy-free/corn-free poultry feed, (both from Modesto Milling) which is a little more expensive than the standard organic feed, but it's worth it for the overall health and quality of their meat & eggs.
I have a darling husband, and 3 teenage sons (oldest & youngest are mine, middle is his), we're in southeastern NC on a rural highway, where I run my dog grooming business out of my home, and where I will be selling duck eggs very shortly.
Anyway, I guess that's it.
You can find me on Twitter most often, @Ducks_n_Dogs.
