Hello, my name is Amanda, and I got my first chickens earlier this year at a few days old. They are all around 7 months now. Pictures of my 7 pretty chickadees included. I really enjoy having chickens much more than I was anticipating and am happy to join this great group!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Yes- got mine at 2 days old in late May/ early June
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 7 pullets
(3) What breeds do you have?
1-Australorp, 2-Brahmas, 2-Wyandottes, 1 Lavender Orpington, and 1 French Marans
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? The nonstop entertainment and how surprisingly smart and affectionate they can be
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Playing with my cats and dogs, music, and chickens
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I have a full time job as a Clinical Director working with children and teens with different abilities. I love helping people, but I love spending time with my animals to unwind.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found you on the internet while researching chickens before I got mine early this year.
