Howdy! I joined here because I am new to chickens as of 6 months ago and know next to nothing. I started with 6 lavender Orpington chicks which turned out to be 2 hens and 4 roosters. 1 hen disappeared last month. We have hawks and owls in the the area as well as the assorted mammals and feral cats that bother chickens so it could have been anything. The lone hen isnt laying yet.

I also have been keeping bees for about 5 years and we also have a dog, a cat and a gecko.

I am trying to sell or trade some of my roosters for more hens and stumbled upon BackYard Chickens. I'm so glad I did! I need all the help and information I can get.
