This is my 2nd time to incubate/hatch chicken eggs.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

I have 7 eggs that are currently incubating.

(3) What breeds do you have?

I have an assortment. I have an olive Egger, 2 black copper Marans, 2 barred olive eggers, and 2 hybrids that are a cross of a super blue egg layer and a chocolate Orpington.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

I love seeing my kids’ reactions when the chicks start to pip. I also love when we candle and they are so amazed by seeing the chick inside the egg.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I love to craft.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

My husband and I have been married for almost 9 years. We have a girl (6) and a boy (3). I am a teacher and my husband is a firefighter/emt.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

Welcome to the coop! I use the Forums and Articles tabs at the top of the page to do research. You can get lost for hours. It's nice to know you are minutes away from getting help with questions and emergencies! I always check in the "What's New" section as well at the top of this page. This way I can read how I may have a similar question or help give some advice.
