New to the world of chickening. I was "gifted" a hen and rooster a little before I was ready, but had to trade the roo as my town doesn't want them. I love having the girls though! I literally spend hours watching chicken TV!

What breeds of chicken do you have? Good luck with your flock!

I think they are both Rhode Island Reds. But I honestly can't distinguish between those and Buck-Eyes. and they love watching me through the back door! This is LouAnne.

She is a Rhode Island Red. The difference between RIRs and Buckeyes is that RIRs have single combs (large, spiky), but Buckeyes have pea combs (smaller, made of ridges and bumps).

She's a pretty hen.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to our flock. LouAnne is a beautiful RIR. You should get lots of nice, large, brown eggs from her.) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with LouAnne.
