(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Have raised dual purpose and meat birds for 10 years now.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Will be starting over this spring.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Just about all types of cold hearty chickens as well as Orlop turkeys.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Being self sufficient and knowing our flock gets the royal treatment.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I am a homesteader, IT tech, and inventor. My work is my hobby!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My family consists of my wonderful wife and my dog!
I would like to share my portable chicken coop - I just put up a full DIY build video for anyone interested...
It has done us well for over six years, with not a single bird lost to predators.
Hope this tutorial can inspire someone to make their own version.
