I found a white egg with a thick almost greenish grey coating over all but the pionty end yesterday. It was on the floor in a corner. Since I have never had an egg that color (grey) can I assume it represents a new gal's work, or is it just dirty (DH said it looks like someone has been eating coal ashes, haha)? I have one gal that puts a thick pinkish bloom on her brown eggs...so I figure bloom is consistant with each hen. I do have ducks in the coop (never got an egg from 6 of the 7 females) and two silkies that I've yet to sex--all hatched in srping...any of those birds could have layed on the floor (one of the silkies can't/won't get up to the nest boxes)...
