i have some gorgeous grey/silver coloured chicks.....im not sure which eggs they hatched out of so dont know which breed...but they are such a beautiful colour!
im guessing when they feather out they will be a different colour...anyone know what colour grey/silver chicks would be when older??

In all my worldly wisdom (without pics of course) I would say.......there's a 50/50

chance. Sorry to be funny but really need to know what chicks they are.

they could be barnvelder, brabants hoen, hollandse hoen or appenzeller spitskuif. sorry i dont know the english names. im kinda ruling out the appenzeller though due to the comb. they have a single comb these chicks.
will try for pics tomorrow.

The barnevelders, if the regular color, do NOT look like that.

You could be talking about the appenzeller spitzhaubens. This is what the chick looks like -

I'm not familiar with the other breeds, sorry.

as stated above i dont think its the appenzellers as these chicks have a single comb, the appenzellers dont, but thanks for the pics

im thinking the first two might actually be photos of the blue australorps i picked up yesterday...i cant tell them apart from the other chicks so took photos of all the bluish/grey chicks.....

Chicks 3/5 appear to be lavender, maybe? Chick 4 is blue. They will stay that color to some degree. The others, I think, are black or black patterned.
