Hello,

We have 3 of these Easter Eggers, and my wife and I are unsure of the breed.

Perhaps a Lavender something?

Ah 10-4, thanks Alleys.

I thought Easter Egger was just a catchall which meant any bird with the blue/green egg gene, and within that group there were different breeds. I'll mark 'em as Easter Eggers on our spreadsheet

Thanks Alleys

Easter Eggers are not a breed, but a variety of chicken that does not conform to any breed standard but lays large to extra large eggs that vary in shade from blue to green to olive to aqua and sometimes even pinkish. Easter Eggers vary widely in color and conformation, and are exceptionally friendly and hardy. Rachki your are correct.

EE just means they have amerucana or araucana some where in their blood line. Both genes produce the "Blue Egg" Gene. What they are mix with will determine the egg color "IF" they are first generation. Blue/green and even Pink. If 2nd generation or greater all bets are off.

I have a very pretty girl that looks like a Blue Wheaten Ameraucana . She has the right Pea comp,She has muffs and a beard, she even has slate colored shanks but, lays a brown egg.
