My chick has a pea comb with black legs.I have hatched eggers but this one is different. Can someone help distinquish what I have here.

Thank You and I know it seemed like a stupid question .The legs are what I was curious about because they are not that slate color ,they are more black looking. The pea comb is odd looking too.

We don't have 'Easter Eggers' in Australia although I suppose someone could breed them. They seem like all the rage in the US. We have Araucanas that lay blue eggs so the genes are there.

There are no stupid questions, unless they are "unasked" ones. Keep asking questions. It's the path to knowledge.

My Hatchery EE's legs lean towards black.

I'm disappointed in the hatchery, I knew what I was getting, because of the board, but these can't even be remotely passed as Americaunas, lol only one in 12 has a beard/muff and 1 in 6 girls has a pea comb the rest appear to be straight.

Sorry about that. The only larger hatchery that I know of that carries actual Ameraucanas is Meyer Hatchery (they breed actual Blue Ameraucanas). The others frequently market their Easter Eggers (as you have discovered) under the names Araucana or Ameraucana (frequently misspelled as Americana or Americauna; a sure sign that it's an EE). The good news is that your EEs will likely outlay true Araucanas or Ameraucanas, and they will lay eggs in different colors (not just blue). Our EEs are my granddaughters favorite because she loves the colored eggs.
