I've been working so many hours I've hardly had time to spend with the ladies but they've been growing like feathery weeds -- and have entered a juvenile molt so that their pen looks like a chicken exploded.
Most of them are coming up on 15 weeks and the Brahmas are coming up on 17 weeks so I opened their nest boxes today. I don't know yet what they think of them because I'd also put down a lot of pine straw in the pen -- filling in all the holes and covering the bare areas -- so they were busy digging.
Nobody is squatting yet and I'm not sure they're tame enough to squat for me anyway, but faces are turning red.
I'm off Tuesday and the weather should be good so maybe I'll manage a photo shoot then.
