hi!, I'm just asking how to help my grieving/possibly depressed chicken she is really young(not even laying yet) and is a very small breed, we got her yesterday and tried to introduce her and her best friend/sister to the flock, but unfortunately her sister was killed and I found her cowering in a hidden corner of the barn, behind the brooder, she was not moving and refused to even lift her head or eat, so I got really scared and thought she died too but I heard faint chirping, anyway I set her up inside in a dark warm place with food and water (scrambled eggs and poultry cell mixed in water) and I decided that I would cuddle her to help he rout she has been making a lot of vocalizations and is being way more clingy than I have known her to be as in she jumped on my shoulder and nipped at me when I tried to move her, I just want her to be okay she is really young and I don't want her to be depressed in the long run. she seems to be trying to mimic her sister, her sister had a cut on her eye when we got her, and her eye was closed, and I keep finding the alive one closing her eye in the same way her sister had even though she has no reason too.

Hi, and welcome to BYC!

I'm sorry for the loss of your other pullet. :hugs

Chickens are social, so she's best off to have another chick or chicks to be with. Can you get another her age until they are old enough to join the flock?

Welcome to Backyard Chickens. This is a great place to explore and hang out. Do you have a dog crate ? I would get her in the coop.
A way she cannot be touched, A way she can see and they can see her just not touch for a few days.
it's just that it is getting cold outside and i am scared she is going to be isolated, as of rn im keeping her inside. do u think she might just need time, keep in mind this is a chick she hasn't fully grown so i really don't want any trauma to get her and she will be really vulnerable to the rest of the flock bc she has made no friends and is likely to get eaten like her sister.
