Dumped at a feedstore, underweight and scared. Wings were clipped really short. She's also stress molting, but she's perking up and eating really well. She's still an ugly chicken. Hopefully her month in isolation in the old dog run plus lots of sunshine and good eats will help. Right now she's looking like bad taxidermy that got moths.

She's either a blue wheaten or a bad blue buff cross, hard to tell with so many feathers missing.

She looks pretty to me. I am sure with all your good care she is going to lay some blue/green eggs for you soon.......

She was soooooo dirty and looked so bad when I first picked her up she got dubbed Ugly chicken. Then she started stress molting and looked worse. You can't tell from the angle of the pics but she has several bald patches. I searched her over for lice or mites very carefully.

She's actually looking 300% better with a couple good dust baths, several days of plenty to eat and a chance to fluff in the sunshine. I have a strong hope once she grows some feathers back she'll be striking with her color pattern. If not, that's ok, as long as she's healthy she'll stay.

What is going on? What is wrong with these people dumping their animals to forage for themselves?! Now a hen? OMG!!

She looks like an EE to me. I have a couple that look just like her and they're gorgeous birds. I hope she lays you a thank you egg soon.

I like that color, it is blue laced red around her neck, I have a similar hen but red laced blue. I am crossing her with a purebred BLRW for fun.
