Grit and Oyster shells?

Okay well I want it seperate from feed so they can get it when they want it...l.....is this a good idea and if so what kind of container and pics of feeding setup?

Something like a rabbit feeder is common and it is usually hung up on the side of the coop somewhere. Ive seen them made from large tin cans after this fashion, too.
 
I use the chick feeders - just the bottom part, but I don't see why you couldn't use the screw-on top too.
For my 5 girls the bottoms hold all the grit or oyster shell they need, as I seldom need to refill and they are healthy & eggs have tough shells.
