Hello, I have 4 ISA Brown hens that are reaching their 2nd birthday. They all lay in the same nest, so I don't know who's egg is whose. Once in a while, I crack open and egg and I swear there is a piece of their supplemented grit IN the egg. Is that possible? I have to fish it out because, whatever it is, it's hard and you don't really want to bite it.
However, one girl always has those brown calcium speckles on her eggs, and it's never been an issue. Maybe it's not grit, but one of those outer calcium deposits in the egg itself?
This grit can in quite a few eggs, and not just the egg with spots. Please advise.
