My local feed store has grit and the bag said it was crushed limestone.

My driveway is 22A crushed limestone. Should i just be able to grab a bunch of little rocks from the driveway and give them to the chickens?

I don't think that limestone would be considered a grit.
Feed grade crushed limestone would be use as a calcium source in feeds.
If it the feed grade crushed limestone I'm thinking it might be is should be real fine something like the lime you put on your lawn/garden.
When I use grit I get a granite grit or a "grit mix" that has;
Silex-stones, Oyster shells, Sea shells, Redstone, Charcoal and Anise oil in it. (more a pigeon grit but its good)

If your chickens free range you don't need to supplement them with grit. But if you confine them, go with Chris' info
