When do you start giving baby chicks grit and must they have grit available to them at all time.

That depends on what you are feeding them and where they are being kept.

Technically they only need grit once you start giving them 'whole foods' like snacks and stuff... If they are on full time chick starter crumble they don't technically need grit but it won't hurt to provide it... As for when from day one they can be offered it or any time after that...
