When should i start supplying grit to my birds?
They are roughly 5 weeks old.

What type of grit is recommended?

Quite a bit of mixed feelings and thought processes on that thread.
Not really sure what to believe.
Guess I'll talk to my local guy and see what he has to say on the matter.

To be honest, as with many things, when it comes to chickens - theres no right or wrong way. Some people will put a sod of grass in with the chicks so they get grit and build up resistance to whatever nasties are around - others would not dream of doing so. Its good to ask your local guy. At the end of the day, do what you feel suits your circumstances and outlook on keeping chickens.
