Hi, I have 3 Cayuga female ducklings that are 2 weeks old and have never raised ducks before. I was told by the hatchey to sprinkle chick grit on their food each day starting on the 3rd day. I was a little confused about how long to give it to them. Does everyone give theirs grit on their food until they go outside permanently? Thank you for any info you can share!

I sprinkle chick grit on all my babies feed, maybe not every day but most days. I give them smashed up mealworms occasionally and their feed has ground corn in it.

They only need Grit if feeding anything other than starter feed. I sprinkle Grit onto the fresh veggies I feed or provide a small bowl of Grit twice a week. They don't require it everyday.
I have switched them to duck feed because they were showing symptoms of needing more Niacin. I also give them greens and veggie trimmings. Thanks for letting me know that you put it on the veggies! That's a good idea!
