Grit?

What is grit and do my chickens need it? They are about 11 weeks old and still on starter, they free range during the day.

Grit are stones. Basically, and non-water soluble rock that a chicken can swallow. Your chickens don't need it if they are only eating commercial feed. However, your chicks will grow into healthier adults if they have grit available. If your chicks free range, they have access to grit.

so they just pick up the rocks they find when they need them? soI dont have to worry?
