Gritsar needs our prayers and healing thoughts, PLEASE!!

We've been upwrapping the foot for short periods of time and it has helped. I have the x-rays of his leg. It's a clean break, no displacement of the bone, so we don't feel unwrapping (when he's sitting still) it is unwise.
I'm going to call the orthopedist first thing in the morning and also see about getting a Rx written for a wheelchair, so his insurance or workman's comp. or both will pay for it. Ordinarily someone with a broken leg could get around on crutches, but with the pneumonia and recovering from the heart attack, crutches are just too much for him right now.

Yeah, gonna see the orthopedist asap. No one goes to the hospital in town. We drive an hour to a great little hospital.

When I was working at the group home (for developmentally disabled adults) in town, we once had to send a resident to the local ER after she had a particularly bad seizure. For some reason, they x-rayed her lungs and said that she had a "huge mass" in her right lung. They immediately sent her by ambulance to Little Rock. Her family was frantic, we were in tears, everyone was upset.
When she got to Little Rock, they re-xrayed her lungs.
Turns out it was dirty x-ray equipment at the local hospital.

DH will be taken care of in Texarkana, Hot Springs and at the other local hospital; not in town.

gritsar - I PMed you but have read all of your updates here. I am so glad that Keith is out of the woods with the heart attack and once he sees the doctor about his leg, you both need to take some time for healing rest and recovery. With animals to take care of, that is hard to do but please just take it slow and easy - the tortise won the race, not the hare. You both are human beings, not human doings, so take time to just be together and not do. Spring is the time for healing, renewal and rejuvenation and I am sending my most heartfelt blessings to you both. With you online and in spirit...........Susan

We're doing just that now. Getting lots of rest and only taking care of what absolutely has to be done. Workman's comp. approved him for a wheelchair, but when I went to town to get one the folks at the medical supply place said they didn't want the hassle of dealing with workman's comp., so they loaned us one for free!

He has an appointment with the orthopedist for tomorrow. I'm hopeful they can do something to help the leg. We took pictures of all the tissue damage from the "care" (and I use the term loosely) he got at the town ER.
DSD #1 is going home in the morning and things will slowly get back to normal.
I'm seriously wanting to buy a lottery ticket or two, though we never gamble. I think after our string of bad luck, we're due for some really good luck.

Just wanted to say I'm glad things seem to be getting straightened out for you two. I'll still wait a while to start teasing you again, though. You have enough going on.

for both of you!!! And

to DSD #1. Sounds like she was a lot of help, but I understand about things getting back to normal when she leaves.
