What dancingbear says is about what I know. These are eggs labeled as free range and fertile and when I went the website of the egg producer, it says there isn't a 100% guarantee that each egg is fertile. For ten hens, there is one rooster, so the odds seem pretty good to me. As for the effect of the cold on the eggs, I don't know. Seems to me I've read that it won't kill of your chances, although I'm sure it doesn't up your odds either.
Good idea to slip a couple other eggs under her in case these don't hatch out. I can check with neighbors to see if they have any fertile eggs.
