I've had plenty of double yolkers over the last 3 years of keeping laying hens. Never had the second yolk look like this though. It was very firm, also. Any ideas?

What breed of hen layed that egg? What breed is laying all the double yolkers? Strange for sure.

Not sure which one laid this mess. I have easter eggers, reds, dominiquers

Looks like she laid it pre scrambled. What a time saver! You could charge extra for those!

Do you think it's old? They have been laying soft shells lately, but this one was a hard shell.

I found an older egg that I had missed during a really hot week. When I found it I was iffy so I cracked it and it was half soft boiled :/ ick. But had been in full Sun a couple days in a heat wave...no smell just cooked

Hahaha @ pre scrambled

Double yolkers are an error in the tract...a yummy one but an error nonetheless. I'd think that scrambled egg came from your double yolk layer, having a reproductive hiccup
