Groundhog Day!! February 2, 2010

UNDATED - The groundhogs have spoken... and it looks like an early spring in Georgia but six more weeks of winter in Pennsylvania.

Gen. Beaurgard Lee, Georgia's official groundhog, emerged from his home at Yellow River Game Ranch in Lilburn Tuesday morning and did not see his shadow. Legend says that means an early spring in Georgia.

I told ya! I told ya! Our groundhog's better than your groundhog, our groundhog's better than yours. Our groundhog is better cuz he says winter's over. Our groundhog's better than yours.

You need another option in your poll, Lisa. Either choice means the same thing - six weeks from Ground Hog Day is an early spring, for most of us up north!

Groundhog Day is Anne's favorite day, and I know that if I want six weeks of peace around here then I'd better buy her a bouquet of flowers. For many, many years I had a standing order at a florists to have them delivered, but that florist went out of business. Guess who was up at six A.M. and out driving around looking for flowers.
